Ø Remind students to use scanning skills. 1) Divide students into 8 groups, with 4 members for each group 2) Hand out materials and explain directions of role-play activity: There are a lot of shops around Guangzhou Railway Station. Many foreigners love to go shopping there. For each group, 2 members as shop worker, selling different commodities, speaking Chinese but not English 2 members as foreign customer, to buy one commodity, speaking English but not Chinese What to do? Buyers need to describe the item and ask for the price; Sellers need to figure out the item and tell them the price. 3) Comments on students’performance | Role play in group of 4 | 1) Practice and learn how to use different ways to communicate if one way doesn’t work 2) Practice comprehensive English abilities in a certain situation | ||||||
