students, guests , teachers and honorable judges

good morning !

my great pleasure to share my dream with you i was a child, i wanted to be a teacher. my father was a teacher, and he taught me a lot. i worshiped him very much. on my tenth birthday, he asked me,what do you want to be when you grow up?i answered proudly,i want to be a teacher like you!on hearing this, my father was very happy and said to me, work hard and your dream will come true. not long ago, one of my primary school teachers was ill. she wanted me to take her place for two weeks. i was glad but nervous. my father said to me,this is a good chance. seize it! i wish you success! when i came into the classroom, the children were very happy.

i introduced myself to them. soon, i got on well with them. they all liked me and i loved them. with my father and headmaster's help, i did the work very well. now, i often miss those lovely children. that experience had made me even more interested in being a teacher in the future.

on the night of march 1, the 76th annual academy awards was shown on television. after watching it, i had a dream, a sudden wish, that some day, i could receive an oscar award, or a nomination, for a movie i've made.

while i was schooling in australia, my friends from school andi received a n assignment one day, "to make a ten to twenty minute movie on the topic of your choice." at the time, the trend was based around the popular matrix movie trilogy, so that became our obvious choice.

because our schedule was very tight, and it was a first time experience, we found it all very hard work, but when we released our production at school, it was worth it. after my friends and i showed the movie, we could not get from one end of the school to the other without getting congratulated about five or six times. we, especially i, were proud. we made a school-wide sensation.

from then on, i became obsessed with how to make movies and how filming is done. i just wanted to know about everyone and everything that has something to do with movies. i would watch a movie four to five times, just to find out how one camera angle, or

special effect was produced. i found everything i watched quite amazing. i sometimes admired directors and producers of these films because the techniques they use are so smart. their cleverness inspired me to make and act in movies.

when i become little bit older, i would like to attend a movie academy in beijing or shanghai, then america, or england, after some training and experience, i would like to make a movie, which will most likely be an action movie, which is my favorite kind of movie to watch.. if i am lucky, i hope i would get an oscar award for this movie. i think that would be quite a challenge, but itsquo;s not impossible. for now, itsquo;s back to watching movies over and over again for me!

everyone has dreams. but what is a dream? in the eyes of the little matchgirl, the dream is the delicious roast duck, which is the warm embrace ofgrandma. in the eyes of deng yaping, the dream is to be brave, to be courageous, and to insist on the belief that never to surrender.

from an early age, i love dreams. i want to take a bath for nature, let theair do not pollute, the grass, the small tree straightened up; i want to be sunwukong, with a unique 72 changes. i wanted to buy all the books in thebookstore, immerse myself in the sea of books, and suck up their food for food;i want to take the time machine of doraemon, to tell the old children about mydream...

now, i grew up, put on the bright red scarf, see the five-star red flag inthe campus fluttering. ah! i found the wings of my dreams! a gloriousflag-bearer, raising the schools five-star red flag, and carrying the studentsbeautiful dreams.

ladies and gentlemen , good afternoon! i’m very glad to stand here and give you a short speech. today my topic is “youth”. i hope you will like it , and found the importance in your youth so that more cherish it. do you know what is youth? how do you master your youth?

youth is not a time of life, it is a state of mind ; it is not rosy cheeks , red lips and supple knees, it is a matter of the emotions : it is the freshness ; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life .

youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of the appetite , for adventure over the love of ease. this often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of 20 . nobody grows old merely by a number of years . we grow old by deserting our ideals.

years wrinkle the skin , but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul . worry , fear , self –distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust .

whether 60 of 16 , there is in every human being ‘s heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what’s next and the joy of the game of living . in the center of your heart and my heart there’s a wireless station : so long as it receives messages of beauty , hope ,cheer, courage and power from men and from the infinite, so long as you are young .

when the aerials are down , and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old ,even at 20 , but as long as your aerials are up ,to catch waves of optimism , there is hope you may die young at 80.

thank you!
