A mon stone on the ground does a great job of just getting by. You, on the other hand, are destined1 for much more spectacular things. Yes, indeed, you will certainly meet a number of challenges when you make the effort to raise your world even a little bit higher. The good thing is, you are superbly equipped to thrive on those challenges.

If life seems unsuccessful, it’s not because of the challenges or limitations that stand in your way. It’s because you refuse to see the exceptional opportunities that those challenges represent.

This is your precious and unique life, and it is absolutely worth all the trouble and effort you must go through to make it great. Within you at this moment are beautiful dreams, and you can begin to live in the direction of those dreams whenever you choose.

It well that young men should begin at the beginning and occupy the most subordinate positions. Many of the leading businessmen of Pittsburgh had a serious responsibility thrust upon them at the very threshold of their career. They were introduced to the broom, and spent the first hours of their business lives sweeping out the office. I notice we have janitors and janitresses now in offices, and our young men unfortunately ms that salutary branch of business education. But if by chance the professional sweeper absent any morning, the boy who has the genius of the future partner in him will not hesitate to try h hand at the broom. The other day a fond fashionable mother in Michigan asked a young man whether he had ever seen a lady sweep in a room so grandly as her Prcilla. He said no, he never had ,and the mother was gratified beyond measure, but then said he ,after a pause, “What I should like to see her do sweep out a room” It does not hurt the newest er to sweep out the office if necessar

y. I was one of those sweepers myself.

Assuming that you have all obtained employment and are fairly started, my advice to you “aim high”。 I would not give a fig for the young man who does not already see himself the partner or the head of an important firm. Do not rest content for a moment in your thoughts as head clerk, or foreman, or general manager in any concern, no matter how extensive. Say to yourself ,“My place at the top.” Be king in your dreams.

And here the prime condition of success, the great secret: concentrate your energy, thought, and capital exclusively upon the business in which you are engaged. Having begun in one line, resolve to fight it out on that line, to lead in it, adopt every improvement, have the best machinery, and know the most about it.

The concerns which fail are those which have scattered their capital, which means that they have scattered their brains also. They have investments in th, or that, or the other, here there, and everywhere. “Don't put all your eggs in one basket.” all wrong. I tell you to “put all your eggs in one basket, and then watch that basket.” Look round you and take notice, men who do that not often fail. It easy to watch and carry the one basket. It trying to carry too many baskets, which break most eggs in th country. He who carries three baskets must put one on h head, which apt to tumble and trip him up. One fault of the American businessman lack of concentration.

To summarize what I have said: aim for the highest; never enter a bar room; do not touch liquor, or if at all only at meals; never speculate; never indorse beyond your surplus cash fund; make the firm's interest yours; break orders always to save owners; concentrate; put all your eggs in one basket, and watch that basket; expenditure always within revenue; lastly, be not impatient, for as Emerson says, “no one can cheat you out of ultimate success but yourselves.”

It takes both rain and sunshine to create a rainbow. Lives are no different.

There happiness and sorrow. There the good and the bad; dark and bright spots duanwenw. 。If we can handle adversity, it only strengthens us. We cannot control all the events that happen in our lives, but we can decide how we deal with them.

Richard Blechnyden wanted to promote Indian tea in the St. Lou World Fair in 1904. It was very hot and no one wanted to sample h tea. Blechnyden saw that all the other iced drinks were doing flourhing business. It dawned on him to make h tea into an iced drink, mix in sugar and sell it. He did and people loved it. That was the introduction of iced tea to the world.

When things go wrong ,as they sometimes will, we can react responsibly or resentfully.

Human beings are not like an acorn which has no choice. duanwenw. An acorn cannot decide whether to bee a giant tree or to bee food for squirrels. Human beings have choices. If nature gives us a lemon, we have a choice: either cry for grace or make lemonade.

It's just the same with the financial storm。 The cr like a lemon, now we have a choice: either cry for bitterness or weather the storm with confidence and courage。

Mtakes and errors are the dciplined true which we advance in life. Mtakes are great teachers. Success es to those who are willing to rk making mtakes in the pursuit of their goals and aspirations, and who are able to learn from those mtakes. And in order to learn from mtakes you must be willing to pay for them.

Mtakes can be enormously valuable, but when you try to get others to pay for your mtakes, then you deprive yourself of the opportunity to learn from them. When something goes wrong, it's usually very easy to find someone else to blame, but what does that really acplh?

Much of the value of mtakes es from the fact that they demand a cost that must be paid. The person who learns the most from a mtake the person who pays the price for that mtake.

When you make a mtake, the lastthing you want to do run away from it. You need to accept it because you can learn a lot from it. The mtake has been made, so make the most of it. Pay the price, learn the lesson, and grow that much stronger.

When you make a mtake, don't look back at it long. Remember the reason for it, and then look forward. Mtakes are lessons of wdom. The past cannot be changed. The present still in your power. Take full advantage of your mtakes to achieve your goals and aspirations.

My Great Expectations

Time is like a sharp knife.

It can carve hard lines on beautiful faces and wear out youth year after year, but using it well can make a piece of simple stone into a great statue. St. Mary Academy is still a simple piece of white stone briefly carved, but as time marches on, duanwenw,。 it may be spoiled by dust, worn out by weather, or broken into separate pieces. It may be also carefully carved by knife into wonderful statues. Everyone at school, including our schoolmates, controls this knife.

If I have a chance to live to be an old woman, I shall, in my peaceful dreams, seek the old paths leading through the trees which I used to travel down in my earlier days. The old bell tower, standing in the golden sunlight, makes a slow, solemn1 sound as girls pour into the church like a stream. There they will kneel, pray and whisper to their spiritual Lord about the little things in their lives. They will ask him to help them in reaching their future goals and I can hear the old church tower whisper in return, “Yes, St. Mary certainly possesses the most hard-working girls that shall glorify2 her with their bright futures!”

What I feel when I hear these words depends on whether I have done anything meaningful over the years. If I have been successful, I will smile with pride and contentment, for I have taken a part, though a very small part, in carving out, with the knife of time, this wonderful model of school life.

Conquer Fears

To conquer our fears, we must go past them.

To fear is natural; to go past them is heroic. Fear is a normal part of life, symbolizing that there are new, extraordinary things to e across and face. To be able to see these things before they happen is a sign of wisdom. Fear is nothing out of the ordinary. To admit that we are fearing is to prove that we value our life.

And men should pay attention to the call of fears. To truly be a leader or someone who is heroic and brave, we should focus on getting past these fears. And it is frightful for people to go through life ignoring fears, because they may often forget their heart and step into life without responsibility.

To be born is to live. To live is to fear. To fear is to be challenged. To accept our fears is to be mature. It needs bravery, maturity and vitality to face our fears, accept the challenges and hope for the best.

Look Within to Find Happiness

How often do you hear people say “I will be happy when …”such as “When I get that thing, I will be happy,” “I will be happy when I pass the exam” and “I would be happy if I had more money”。 I have heard these things before and I am sure that I will hear them again.

Many people want to believe that finding happiness is all about finding or getting something that they want. However, not many people have ever found long-term happiness by achieving a goal. There will always be another thing that they want. There will always be another exam or another dollar.

To break this vicious cycle, we must find our happiness somewhere else ―within ourselves. In other words, happiness is pletely an inside job. The key to finding happiness is to understand that happiness is a choice rather than the result of an experience. We have been given everything

We need to be happy. Allow yourself to choose happiness. If life was perfect, would you be happy? Life is perfect because we create it with our choices. Since we can create life, we can create happiness and choose how much better our lives can get!

Only when we can accept that life is perfect as it is, and that our lives are the sum total of everything that has happened up to this moment, can we accept the joy and the happiness we deserve.
