my favorite food

my favorite food is chinese dumpling; that’s jiao zi in chinese. it is a traditional chinese food and essential during holidays in northern china. and it is also popular in other chinese holidays or festivals, so it is part of the chinese culture or tradition.

i like eating dumpling not because i am from northern china but because it is really very delicious and stand for getting together. my family usually eat dumpling when all the members of family come together. making dumplings with my family is the happiest thing for me.

chinese dumpling is a delicious food. you can make a variety of chinese dumplings with different fillings. it depends on your taste, and my favorite taste is pork.

usually if you have chinese dumpling for dinner, you will not have to cook anything else except for some big occasions. the dumpling itself is good enough for dinner. this is one of the advantages of chinese dumpling over other foods, though it may take longer time to make them.

the weather here

hello everyone! now let me tell you the weather in xuzhou in the year. in spring, it is usually cloudy and warm. you can go hiking and fishing. in summer , the weather is really hot. some people are swimming in the yun long lake. in the fall, it's cool and in winter it sometimes snow and very cold.

this year’s snow fall in xuzhou earlier than usual, and i was very luck to see it.

a moment later,the snowflakes began to fall quietly. soon the land before my eyes was all white,like a beautiful blanket. then it snowed more and more heavily. the trees were all covered with white. the whole campus became a silver world.

first i must say the campus life is really different from what i have experienced in high school i was a in the high school, i was busy with my studies. but in the university, the class timetable is flexible, which gives us more free time ,i can do a lot of things i want to do.

i often go to the library. i enjoy the quiet and peace when sitting in the library. in there i can also use the library computers to go over my lessons.

now i am living in a dormitory with roommates. it has many advantages. we can help each other with homework, and give much needed support during difficult times. we also have much fun in the dorm, sometimes we play cards, or take many photographs of the whole roommates. the atmosphere is friendly and happy.

campus life is rich and colorful. my university often hold many activities such as sports events, contests, and other different gatherings, it enable us to vary our experience and lighten our study and homework. we can also form friendships through these activities.

how to keep healthy

what is the most important thing in the world? i think it is health.

you can take away our money, house, car, or even our clothes and we can survive. but if our health was taken away, we would surely die. that is why we always try to eat in a healthy way and exercise regularly.

in order to eat healthily, i usually avoid eating food high in fat, like fries chickens. i eat a lot of vegetables and fresh fruit which are full of vitamins. taking exercise every day helps us build a strong body. regular exercise is an important part of keeping me healthy.

what's more, i think friends are an important part of one’s health. many studies show that people with a wide range of social contacts get sick less than those who don't. i always feel better when i am with friends than when i am alone. when i am with my friends, i always laugh. laughing is also an important part of health. i like to laugh with my friends.

by eating properly and exercising regularly, i can keep my body at a proper weight healthy. by spending time with my friends, i can keep my mind as well as my body happy. these things sound easy to do, but not many people can manage them. i think a strong will is necessary if we want to keep healthy.

大學英語口語教學淺析

摘要:在英語教學中,由於多種因素的共同影響,學生的實際應用能力一直難以提高。本文分析了影響學生口語能力的因素.圍繞諾言學家littlewood將交際能力所概括的四個方面,提出培養學生交際能力的途徑。

關鍵詞:口語;輸入;跨文化;教學途徑

普通語言學認爲語言是有聲的,任何有聲語言總是以口語爲第一性,書面語是口語的文字記錄,是第二性的,在語言的發展過程中口語始終處於首位。社會語言學認爲,交際功能是語言的本質功能,語言是一種交際工具。交際能力不僅包括對一種語言的語言形式的理解和掌握,而且還包括對在何時何地、以什麼方式對誰使用恰當語言形式進行交際的知識體系的理解和掌握。交際能力是一個複雜的概念,涉及語言、修辭、社會、文化、心理等多種因素,包括一個人運用語言手段(口頭語或書面語)和副語言手段來達到某一特定交際目的的能力。語言學家littlewood將交際能力概括成四點:①掌握語言知識,並能運用語言清楚地表達思想;②不僅掌握語言知識,還了解這些語言知識在交際中的作用;②學習者在使用語言時應考慮自己的社會地位及社會語境.並能從聽者的反應中判斷出所用語言是否恰當;④學習者必須瞭解語言的社會含義,能使用本族人普遍接受的語言。語言教學應該以教學生如何使用這種交際工具爲主。語言知識的學習是爲了更好地使用語言工具,發揮其交際功能服務的。英語口語教學應該圍繞交際能力包含的內容,着重培養學生運用英語進行口頭交際的能力。

一、影響學生口語能力的主要因素

以學生進入國中階段開始學英語算起,進入大學之前,每個人接觸英語的時間平均6—7年。國中3年加高中3年,英語學習往往花費上千學時,然而培養出來的學生只能背出一系列語法條條,卻連最簡單的常用語也聽不借或說不出,英語聽說能力嚴重不足。究其原因、我認爲有以下幾點。

(1)長期以來,英語教學一直走“語法翻譯教學法”的路子。傳統的英語課堂上教師採用“講解一翻譯一朗讀—做題”的教學模式,語法知識被視爲教學核心,教學以講解詞彙、語法和分析課文中的語言點爲主,把語言作爲理論知識來教,忽視了語言的交際功能。教學中以教師爲中心,忽略了學生的主體因素。教師在課堂上就知識講知識,學生被動機械地背誦模仿。久而久之,學生感到乏味。大多數學生語音不過關.他們付出了努力,所學得的卻是“聾啞英語”,導致大部分學生知難而退,放棄英語學習。

(2)應試教育的觀念根深蒂固,會考和大學聯考乃至四級、六級考試試題都比較重視語法和書面知識。儘管這些年越來越多的教師認識到這一不足,將聽力增設爲考試內容。但內於實際操作難度較大,口語考試一直被排除在外,只有極少數四級、六級成績優秀的學生纔有機會參加。在這種情況下.教師不得不採用傳統的模式,“肢解”課文.做句子的分析和翻譯、詞彙的講解和練習,重視語言知識的學習,卻忽視了學生運用語言能力的培養。

近年來,各種新興的教學理論層出不窮,高校英語教師在這方圓也進行了積極的探索,但由於教學時數、教材使用、教學條件和設備及班級學小數量等因素的影響,成效並不顯著。

二、口語教學中培養學生交際能力的途徑

(一)加強閱讀聽力訓練,增加語言輸入與儲備

衆所周知,語言輸入是語言輸出和完成交際的必備條件。讀與聽是語言、知識、信息獲取的重要手段.也是開口說話的第一步。大量的閱讀與聽力練習是學生獲得語感以及學會正確表達自己思維的基本途徑。讀與聽的過程不僅是一個接收的過程而且還是一個建立的過程。這個過程的第一階段被稱爲感覺階段。在這個階段,學習者得到的僅僅是一個膚淺的印象,這基本上是一個被動和接收的階段:第二階段被稱爲識別階段。這一階段中學習者把所接收的信息加以識別,把已經識別的與正在識別的聯繫起來。這個識別過程是積極的、細緻的。第三階段爲領悟和建立階段。學習者通過認知系統重複一遍所接觸到的材料,而且不時地把已經理解的東西與新學到的加以對照和修正,並以一種比較容易保留的形式被存入記億裏。這樣,理解了的材料得到了改變,被保留下來的是語義信息。有了語義信息,人們再尋求表達形式*從這個過程,我們可以得出結論:學習者學說英語必須從聽和讀開始,開口說話,表達思想,進行語言交際便成了大量聽和讀的必然結果。學習者由於接觸材料的深度與廣度不同,口頭交際能力差異很大。那些聽得多、理解得多、讀得廣的學習者,口頭交際能力就強;而那些聽得少、讀得不透徹的學習者,在表達時就會感到無話可說,或者不知如何說,口頭交際能力自然就差。

(二)培養用英語思維的習慣,充實跨文化知識

用英語思維是指排除本族語的干擾,用英語直接理解、判斷和表達。口語教學的日的在於培養學生的口頭交際能力,學生應養成良好的口頭交際的習慣,做到語言清晰、流暢、準確。培養學生用英語思維的習慣,加強英語思維能力訓練是培養學生用英語表達思想能力的重要手段和途徑。由於缺乏有效的語言輸入,大多數學習者在表達前,把語義信息,即他想說的.在腦子裏下意識地尋求母語的表達式,然後再把它譯成英語。這種做法不可避免地會導致母語的干擾。這樣藉助於母語表達出來的東兩多數是不地道的,運用這種方式與人交際經常會導致交際出現障礙甚至失敗。在英語口語教學中應該讓學生聽地道的英語,培養他們邊聽邊直接用英語把聽到而且理解了的東西儲存在記憶裏的習慣,以及培養他們克服母語干擾直接用英語表達的良好習慣。學生通過一系列主動、積極的思維活動,理解和表達思想,接受和輸出信息。正是在這種積極的思維和表達過程中,學生:才能獲得真正的英語口頭交際能力。

英語學習者在與英語本族人進行實際交往中,很容易將自己的母語使用習慣帶人跨文化交際,從而引起誤會,導致交流出現障礙甚至失敗。由於母語文化因素的干擾,而說出不得體的英語的現象非常普遍。我們都知道,語言交流所涉及的不僅僅是一系列的語法規則及詞條,而且還涉及語言使用的社會文化及風俗習慣。一句完全符合語法規則的話,用在不恰當的場合,說得不合說話人的身份,或者違反當地的社會風俗習慣,就達不到交際的日的。所以,在英語口語教學中,應該比較系統地將目的語的文化知識的傳授融入教學中,使英語口語教學與文化教學相結合。在口語教學的初級階段,教師應着重交際文化的導入,內容包括介紹日常生活交往方面英漢主流文化的差異,以及在語言形式和運用中的具體表現,打招呼和告別、各種稱呼、祝賀和讚揚以及其他社交禮節等的差異介紹屬於此類。介紹由於文化差異引起的英漢詞語、成語、諺語和格言的意義及運用方面的差異,介紹英漢語言在比喻和聯想運用上的差異以及英漢語言中典故、委婉語和禁忌語運用方面的差異等。學生通過這些差異的學習,就能理解各種英語表達法所涉及的文化內涵。在口語教學的高級階段則着重導人知識文化,從中西文化差異的深層人手,介紹中西方思維方式、價值觀念、認知行爲、交際關係以及言語表達方式等方面的差異。學生通過中西文化此類差異的學習,就增強了文化差異意識,瞭解了西方的人際關係及交往的深層次模式,從而學會得體地進行交際。

(三)加強師生互動,趣化口語課堂

外語口語能力並非與生俱來,也很難在教學過程中立竿見影,它需要一系列的輸入、模仿、分析等各方面的習得之後而取得。因此,口語課堂的每個環節、每個活動都必須有意義、有趣味,從而使學生集中於教學的內容而非形式上。教學內容必須難度適中。在具體的操作中,則宜遵循先模仿後應用、先機械後活用、先語言後交際的總原則來安排和開展,即呈現、機械性操練、有意義操練到交際性練習。

在教學的第一個階段,教師可將與實際生活密切相關的語言資料或信息材料發給學生.並附上相關的詞彙、句型及對話,讓學生在對這些詞彙和句型認知的基礎上,先模仿其中的對話,再分組討論,從中學習和掌握一些英語最基本的句型和習語、慣用語,要熟練到脫口而出的程度。掌握一些公式化的套語、記住許多現成的口頭話語,對能編制出創造性的言語、彌補第二語言規則的不足以及擺脫交際困境都是必要的。由於這些交際性的內容難度適巾,又與學生的實際生活密切相關,爲學生提供了很有價值的語言材料和語言信息,觸發他們積極地投入學習的熱情。

第二階段的訓練目標主要是培養學生連貫說話的能力。教學內容可包括愛情友誼、公共道德、人際關係、個性特點、生活習慣、趣味愛好、生活經歷、體育運動、勤工儉學、學習方法、健康減肥等。在訓練過程中,堅持採用“師生合作”、“小組合作”的教法和學法,充分體現教學民主,發揮“教與學”兩個積極件,讓學習主體更有發揮和展現才華的活動空間,具體做法是:讓學生三至四人一小組進行分組討論或說話演練,並以小組總體成績作爲評價和獎賞的依據;小組活動前,先指定“話題”,明確要求,讓學生的討論和“說話”能圍繞“話題”,且有所側重;在討論中可以隨時提問,問同學、問老師,隨時把不懂的東西弄懂。這樣,教師成爲教學過程中的指導者、參與者和合作者,從中發揮主導作用,學生成爲課堂學習的主人。計學習活動在教與學互動、學與練協調、資源共享、分工合作、互教互學、取長補短、教學相長的課堂氛圍中體驗學習的成功和語言實踐活動的無限樂趣。這種“合作型”的教法和學法讓每個學生以平等的身份互相切磋、合作學習、個體競爭,爲互學互幫的合作學習活動。

第三階段亦可稱爲創造性階段。通過初級、中級階段的學習,學生已有了用英語進行口頭交際的強烈慾望,掌握了基本的英語口頭交際的技巧,又具備了連貫說話的能力,這就爲學生自由運用語言以及創造性使用語言打下了基礎。高級階段的教學內容可擴展到對各種問題及現象的討論與辯論,比如孩子的教育、青年人的思想、婦女的社會地位、老年人問題、種族歧視、廣告的優劣、電視中的暴力、代溝問題、浪費問題、人口問題、環境污染問題、住房問題、工作的意義等,教學方式主要採用辯論、演講、小組討論、總結髮言等。通過這三個階段的學習,學生就能逐漸地做到運用英語清楚地自由地表達自己的思想感情、意志以及觀點,也就具備了比較強的英語口頭交際能力。

三、結語

2l世紀,全球已經內產業經濟時代步入到知識經濟時代,具有創新意識和開拓能力的人才將具有特殊的價值。這種格局對我國的現行的人才培養模式和方向提出了重大的挑戰,教育改革勢在必行。外語專業人才的培養也要面向世界.重在交流和應用能力的培養。2014年教育部頒發的《大學英語課程教學要求(試行)》(教高字[2014]1號)中明確指出:“大學英語的教學目標是培養學生英語綜合應用能力,特別是聽說能力,使他們在今後工作和社會交

往中能用英語有效地進行口頭和書面的信息交流,同時增強其自主學習能力、提高綜合文化素養,以適應我同經濟發展和國際交流的需要。”這就爲我們明確了外語教學改革的方向。靈活運用現代化的教學方法,結合本地區、本校的教學實際,有效地提高學生的交際能力是擺在每位教師面前的重要任務。總之,提高英語口語是一項系統工程,如何兼收幷蓄、博採衆長、因地制宜地制定出靈活有效的教學策略仍然值得廣泛的探索與研究。
