過去進行時和一般過去時的區別對比 篇二

(1) 過去進行時通常表示一個過去正在進行的動作；而一般過去時則通常表示一個過去已經完成的動作。如：

I was reading the newspaper last night. 我昨晚在看書。(不一定看完)

I read the newspaper last night. 我昨晚看了報紙。(已經看完)

He was building a model ship out of wood. 他在那裏修一座橋。(不一定建成)

He built a model ship out of wood. 他用木頭造了個模型船。(已建成)

(2) 少數動詞如rain, snow, cough, wear, feel, work等的一般過去時並不表示動作完成，這時用兩種時態都可以，且含義區別不大。如：

It snowed / was snowing all day yesterday. 昨天下了一天的雪。

She didn't feel / wasn't feeling well that day. 那天她感到不太舒服。

The child coughed / was coughing all night. 這孩子咳嗽了一整夜。

過去進行時的用法： 篇三

一、過去進行時的一般形式爲：was /were + V-ing

常與表示過去的時間狀語連用，如：last night, last Saturday等；或者與when, while, as引導的過去時間狀語連用。

如： We were watching TV from seven to nine last night. 昨天晚上七點到九點的時候我們在看電視。

What was he researching all day last Sunday? 上週日他一整天都在研究什麼？

二、過去進行時可以表示在過去某個時間點發生的事情。

時間點可以用介詞短語、副詞或從句來表示。

如： What was she doing at nine o‘clock yeste☆☆rday? 昨天晚上九點她在做什麼？ （介詞短語表示時間點）

When I saw him he was decorating his room. 當我看見他的時候他正在裝飾房間。 （when從句表示時間點）
